Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, our team of engineers at The Inventors Shop (https://theinventorsshop.com) has collaborated with nursing home staff, physicians, and healthcare professionals to deliver a product that reduces pathogen transmission at the point where patients and caregivers interact. The result of this work is the UV-TAP Tower, a patent pending in-room air purifier with a compact vertical design that fits in rooms with limited floor space and combines hospital grade air filtration and ultraviolet disinfection technologies with room airflow optimization to achieve this critical goal.

How The UV-TAP Works
  • The unit is placed as closely as possible to the space of patient/resident and caregiver interaction to minimize airborne virus transmission exposure.

  • High efficiency air filtration removes most airborne particles so that the UV 6-Stage tower air disinfection chamber delivers optimal and effective single-pass disinfection.

  • The air filtration system includes a high-efficiency and high-capacity carbon filter to remove room odors and other types of VOC’s. 

  • The unit provides optimal room airflow. Disinfected and filtered air is continuously flowing in the room from above-to-below all of the rooms breathing zone to aid in minimizing the risk of airborne virus transmission and to provide high-quality air to all of the rooms breathing zone.
